Learning Goals 25-26
Delaware Primary's Library Goals
Our library reading cultivates a lifelong love of reading, drives high academic achievement, and builds a vibrant community of learners. By bridging classroom curriculum with hands-on experiences and digital tools, we empower students from Pre-K through grade 5 to inquire, include, collaborate, curate, explore, and engage their minds.
Grades Pre-K to 2nd
In grades Pre-K to 2, students will extend their classroom read-alouds into the library through weekly questions and projects. Collaborating with classroom teachers, the library will offer:
- Thematic centers that tie directly to current units
- Interactive story stations with manipulatives and role-play
- Guided inquiry activities that spark curiosity
These experiences reinforce early literacy skills, encourage social interaction, and nurture a sense of wonder.
Grades 3rd to 5th
Students in grades 3 to 5 will venture beyond their usual reading selections and gain proficiency with digital platforms that make learning interactive. They will:
- Create engaging book trailers to recommend titles to peers
- Learn design and research tools such as Canva, PebbleGo, and Microsoft Word
- Complete curriculum-aligned research projects that emphasize critical thinking
This blend of genre exploration and technology builds confidence, creativity, and research skills.
