Published on 10/29/15
The Syracuse City School District will hold a public hearing to solicit comments from the community in connection with the ongoing application to open a new Charter School in the City of Syracuse. The application is currently being reviewed by the New York State Board of Regents for possible action at the November 17, 2015 meeting of the Board of Regents.
The public hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, November 3, 2015 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Board Room at the District’s central offices (725 Harrison St.). The hearing will be open to the public. Those unable to attend who would still like to submit their feedback can do so by contacting CharterSchools@scsd.us.
The Syracuse Academy of Science and Citizenship Charter School is proposed to open on September 1, 2016. The Charter School will then continue to grow to full capacity, with K-6 grade levels and an enrollment of 525 students proposed by its fifth year (2020-2021).
