SCSD Announces Charter School Public Hearing

The Syracuse City School District will hold a public hearing to solicit comments from the community for the ongoing application to open a new Charter School in the City of Syracuse. The application is currently being reviewed by the New York State Board of Regents for possible action at the June 2016 meeting of the Board of Regents.
 
The public hearing is scheduled for Thursday, May 12th from 5:30-6:30 pm in the Board Room at the District’s central offices (725 Harrison St.). The hearing will be open to the public. Those unable to attend who would still like to submit their feedback can do so by contacting CharterSchools@scsd.us.
 
The OnTECH Charter High School is proposed to open in August 2017 with grades 9-10 and a maximum enrollment of 110 students.  The Charter School will add grades 11 and 12 by year five with a projected enrollment of 360 students.
