The Syracuse Aspiring Leaders Academy (SALA) celebrated staff who recently completed the leadership development program in a graduation ceremony. SALA’s vision is to build the capacity of future principals to lead their schools to increased achievement levels for all students, as well as to invest in the growth of the leaders of tomorrow. Over the course of the year, participants were given the topics of instructional vision, difficult decisions based on data, consultancy protocol, recognizing great teaching and growing teachers, redefining school culture and climate, and distributed leadership. Sessions were held once a month on Saturdays and were master facilitated by Dr. Shawn Joseph.
