Henninger College & Career Center



Vision

The vision of the College and Career Center at Henninger High School is to empower students with skills and resources so they can discover a path to a fulfilling career and make their own unique marks on the world. 

Mission

Recognizing that career development is a life-long process, the mission of the College and Career at Henninger High School is to get students thinking about their future after high school. Whether the student is heading to college, trade school, military, or joining the workforce, the time to begin career awareness, exploration, and preparedness is now.

Military Links

The ASVAB will be offered the 3rd Tuesday of every month, so sign up using the QR codes around the school, or stop by the College and Career Center, room 131, for more information.

An Air Force ROTC representative will be in the cafeteria on Monday, October 16th

Employment Opportunities

How are you progressing with your post-graduation plans?

  • Are you thinking about going to college?
    • Have you applied to the colleges you are interested in?
    • Have you completed your FAFSA?  NYS TAP?
    • Have you enrolled in OnPoint for College?
    • Have you registered with Say Yes?
  • Are you thinking about the military?
    • Have you taken the ASVAB – the entrance exam needed?  We give the test the 3rd Tuesday of every month.
    • If you have any questions, please stop by the college and career center.
  • Are you thinking going into the trades – carpentry, welding, plumbing, cosmetology, etc.
    • Have you taken the TABE – the entrance exam for BOCES?  We give the test here.
    • Did you talk to one of the unions at the career fair?  We have their contact information if you are interested.
  • Are you heading right into a career?
    • We can help with applications and resumes.
    • We also have resources for you do some career searches to help guide your decisions.

Important News

College and Career Planning Assistance
Need support with your college decision and paperwork?  Looking for a job or want to explore careers?  The following agencies are in the College and Career Center each week:

*  OnPoint for College - Mondays and Tuesdays from 10 AM - 2 PM
* Onondaga Community College - Thursdays from 8:30 AM - 11 AM
* Syracuse Northeast Community Center - Supported Employment Specialist - Select Friday from 9 AM - 11 AM
You can also stop by the College and Career Center anytime with a pass or during your lunch or study hall and one of the counselors will assist you.
