The Syracuse City School District School Transfer Program provides parents and guardians the opportunity to request that their child receive a transfer to: his/her home school (the school to which a student is assigned based on his/her residence or home address); a school within his/her home school quadrant (the area in which they reside); join a sibling (brother or sister residing in the same household) who is enrolled in the school and will remain for at least one year; or a high school that offers a program of interest to the student.
 
Elementary School Transfer Requests (K-5)
 
The Syracuse City School District Elementary School Transfer Program provides parents or guardians the opportunity to request a transfer to:

• Their child’s home school (the school to which a student is assigned based on his/her residence or home address);
• A school within his/her home school quadrant (the area in which they reside); or
• Join a sibling (brother or sister residing in the same household) who is enrolled in the school and will remain for at least one year.

If your child will be entering Kindergarten, 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd, 4^th or 5^th grade in September 2015, you will be required to complete the online Elementary School Transfer Form (K-5), which will be available in the Spring 2015.  Please continue to visit our website for updates.

Please note that submission of an Elementary School Transfer Form (K-5) does not guarantee that a student will be transferred. Prior to the approval of any school transfer request, it must be determined that your child is eligible for the request, and that there is space available in your school of choice.  The Department of Registration will notify you in writing of your acceptance status.
