3rd Annual Chili Cook Off: The 3 rd  annual Corcoran Chili Cook Off will be held Saturday, January 30 th from 12-2pm at the school. In this annual event, staff, students, parents, and community members compete against one another for the coveted "Golden Spoon." This event celebrates the spirit of Corcoran the Family (CTF), which has come to define the Corcoran Community. Proceeds from the event will support the Charles Pitts Memorial Scholarship Fund. Graduation Rates in the Syracuse City School District Continue to Climb: The New York State Education Department has released the high school completion data for the 2011 student cohort.  The Syracuse City School District’s overall four-year June graduation rate of 55% is the highest it has been since the 2004 cohort.  The August graduation rate was up to 58% with the five-year graduation rate reaching 60%.  During Superintendent Contreras’s tenure the four-year June graduation rate has increased from 48% to 55%, the four-year August graduation ... more >>
Poetry Outloud Competition: If you see Salsabeel Khazaleh or Jenna Lacey, please congratulate them! They are our 1 st and 2 nd place winners, respectively, of the Poetry Out Loud Competition that took place before break. They will be representing Corcoran at a regional competition at Onondaga Community College on February 23, at 6pm. They were absolutely fabulous.
