What Does AVID Look Like?
AVID implementation is structured around four AVID Schoolwide Domains: Instruction, Systems, Leadership and Culture.
The Instruction Domain focuses on the schoolwide implementation of WICOR strategies. WICOR stands for Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization and Reading. WICOR strategies are used to help students engage in rigorous coursework. These strategies help students build a toolbox that they can use to access coursework in all content areas. WICOR strategies help students take ownership of their learning.

The AVID College Readiness System is a K-12 system. AVID Elementary focuses on the schoolwide implementation of WICOR strategies. AVID Secondary continues the implementation of schoolwide WICOR strategies and also provides students with the opportunity to participate in the AVID Elective class.
