Vision:  We are a Technical Institute for the 21st Century.

Mission:  To develop academically successful and socially responsible citizens who are fully prepared to take on the challenges of college and careers in the 21st Century.
  • By the end of the 2017-18 school year, 90% of students in 2014 Cohort will graduate and the percent of graduates earning Advanced Designation will be at 15%.
  • By the end of the school year, 75% of lesson plans will incorporate effective student engagement practices, such as higher-order thinking questions, think-pair-share, socratic seminar, etc. resulting in opportunities for students to engage in dialogue/discourse with one another at least twice during instruction as measured by lesson plan checks and walkthroughs. Monitored through walk-throughs using site visit check list developed at ITC 100% of  core content teachers will follow the school-wide data analysis process to identify strengths and needs, to create and submit action plans in response to the data to admin team and coach for feedback and monitoring a minimum of 3 times/year. Interim process identifed and gone through for core content teachers and those with NOCTI certification.
  • By the end of the school year, 75% of teachers will implement student engagement practices, such as higher-order thinking questions, think-pair-share, socratic seminar, etc. resulting in 80% students engaging in dialogue/discourse with one another in alignment with lesson objective at least twice during instruction as measured by walkthroughs and formal observations.
  • By final survey administration, 90% of students will report an positive responses from baseline on school-developed culture and climate survey that focuses on the target areas (i.e. bullying, safety).
  • Increase reciprocal communication methods from 2016-17  School Year.  Adjust the Family/Community Event Calendar and information nights schedule by November.  Evidence of communication will be reflected in the school calendar, postings on the website, emails, list serve, and Remind.

E-Sports Club Brings Competitive Gaming to ITC: The ITC E-Sports Club, now in its third year, meets weekly after school. There, students have the opportunity to take part in everything from competitive online gaming to a friendly board game. Together, students compete in Wii games on a smart board, play Dungeons & Dragons, take part in an online card game, Hearthstone, and more.   For those who wish to play competitively, the hard work will begin in the spring. SCSD Food Committee Seeks Student Input & Action: Henninger junior Nolan Spears noticed that some of his classmates were skipping lunch at school. Some would roam the halls, causing disruptions, while others would leave school to go to a corner store or fast-food restaurant to purchase a meal.   “I saw this as incredibly dangerous, both for them and the school,” Nolan explained. “When the opportunity came up to join the Food Committee, I jumped at it. P-Tech Students Gain Work Experience through Summer Employment: During the 2016-17 school year, ITC juniors attended several ‘job shadows,’ visiting local partner companies in small groups. The visits, intended to give students a look at the employment opportunities that their programs of study could offer them, were a success – but only allowed students to get a small glimpse into what jobs at those companies entailed.   This summer, for the first time at ITC, students were able to apply for a job shadow program – or full-time ... more >>
SCSD Summer Graduation Scheduled for August 21st:   The SCSD summer graduation ceremony will be held on Monday, August 21 st at the SRC Arena (Onondaga Community College Campus, 4585 W. Seneca Turnpike). Students from Corcoran, Fowler, Henninger, ITC and Nottingham will take part in the ceremony, which will begin at 6 pm.   We look forward to celebrating our hardworking students as they take part in their Class of 2017 #SCSDGraduation.
